There is a problem with Microsofts Windows software, being it needs to be updated several times per week verses Ubuntu at about once per month and Apple which never requires an Operating System update but does require updates for other programs installed .

After my trials of security programs to find the one that I will purchase I have to advise you for the time being I have chosen a freeware Windows Defender and have used Microsofts Security Essentials as well as Iobit360 and trialed many more.
The best I can see is to Purchase Bit Defenders Total Security 2011 because of the all in one features and very understanding dashboard I found this to be the best out there and it can even tell you when a program needs an update to be more secure. You should know this you can not run any other security program with Bit Defender installed because it will remove the other program due to compatibility issues.
Bit Defender Total Security is a large program but it doesn't slow down your system unless you are letting it scan your computer. It will take some time to download and install as It will automatically scan your system which should take a total of 1 hour and maybe an extra 1/2 hour depending on your settings that you chose from the dashboard.
